Double & French Door Retractable Screens
Retractable screen doors for French doors and double door entries, with one screen for each door so the whole opening is covered. An alternative to sliding screens and mosquito curtains for doors. Both panels retract into slim housings, so your doors are fully visible when the screens aren't needed.

Features & Benefits
Choosing Screens for French Doors
French doors are the hardest opening to screen well. They are wide, they often swing into the room, and most homeowners bought them for the glass and the view. A screen that hangs in front of them all summer defeats the purpose.
Double retractable screens solve this with two panels. Each one rolls out of a slim housing mounted on its side of the frame. You pull the handle bars toward the center, where the panels meet and close with a magnetic seal. Release them and the mesh rolls back into the housings, leaving the doorway clear.
Each panel runs in its own guide track and retracts at a controlled speed. When both are open, all you see is a narrow housing on each side of the frame.
What to Consider for Your French Doors
Swing direction. French doors that swing in and doors that swing out can both be screened. The housings mount where the doors still clear them when they open and close.
Handles and hardware. French doors often have lever handles, deadbolts, and flush bolts. We check that the screen panels and housings clear all of it at the measurement visit.
Opening width. Our double screens span openings up to 96" wide. Each panel handles half the opening, which keeps the pull light even on a wide pair of doors.
Foot traffic. French doors to a deck or garden get used all day in summer. Because each panel works on its own, you can open one side for a quick trip outside and leave the other closed.
Sun and pets. Patio doors often face the yard and the afternoon sun. Retracting the screens when not in use keeps the mesh out of the light. For dogs and cats, ask about pet-resistant mesh.
For a single entry door, our retractable screen doors are a better fit. If your patio has a glass slider instead of French doors, see our sliding screen doors.
French Door Screen Options Compared
If you are shopping for French door screens, you have probably seen these three options. Here is how they compare.
French door mosquito curtain
Where it works
Inexpensive, fast to hang, and easy to take down at the end of summer.
Where it falls short
Fabric hangs across both doors at all times and hides the glass you paid for. Magnetic seams can separate in wind, and mounting strips often loosen on painted trim.
Sliding screen for French doors
Where it works
A framed screen panel on a track can cover a wide opening and stays put once closed.
Where it falls short
It needs room to slide, so the panel is always parked across part of the doorway. Tracks collect dirt, and the frame changes the look of your doors.
Double retractable screens
Where it works
Two custom-fit panels meet in the center with a magnetic seal, open independently, and retract into housings on each side when you don't need them.
Where it falls short
Costs more than a curtain and requires professional measurement and installation. Very wide or unusual openings may need a custom solution we work out on site.
You can see double door installations in our gallery, and our FAQ page covers warranty, colors, and pets in more detail.
